Groupon to Enter Australia as Daily Deals Websites
Groupon recruits people to sign up to its email database before the site will be launched as scheduled in the next month. An intellectual property action within the Federal Court in Victoria in August has been also initiated by Groupn. If the mediation on January 21 fails, then court hearing awaits on 4th of February. Groupon is also taking actions against Scoopon in Illinois with the claim that the latter practiced federal trademark infringement, unfair competition and deceptive trade, this is even to the fact that Scoopon’s business is within Australian shores.
