Facebook Offers: Facebook Quietly Taking Another Stab at Deal Offerings
It appears as though Facebook is trying their luck once again at the daily deal, social and ecommerce game with their newest program, Facebook Offers. Only two short weeks following the forced Facebook Timelime mandate, the social networking giant has began contacting advertisers, offering an opportunity to use the Facebook Offers platform. Apparently, Facebook reps are telling the contacted advertising clients that they are the only ones who may use Facebook Offers for business at this time. This equates to a much more serious state of beta testing as it has now become a selective, available service – which by the way, may be another tactic of selected, invite-only capabilities used by other social networking including Pinterest’s invite-only functionality and Twitters initial invite only advertising platform….
Update: - Facebook has clarified the following regarding their offer program:
“Facebook rolled out Offers in beta to a handful of clients in the U.S. after announcing it at fMC in February. Facebook is continuing to roll out the beta to a limited amount of businesses in Singapore, Australia, New Zealand, Japan, and Turkey, but it’s not a global roll out. It’s not yet available to additional U.S. businesses.”
